PowerPollen to Provide Cutting-Edge Pollen Technology to India-Based Company VNR Seeds

Today, PowerPollen, an Iowa Biotechnology Association (IowaBio) member company, signed a letter of intent to provide their cutting edge pollen technology to VNR Seeds, based in Raipur, Chattisghar India.

The agreement was signed by Kavi Chawla Senior Advisor to PowerPollen, VNR Seeds representatives, and witnessed by Jessica Hyland, Executive Director of the Iowa Biotechnology Association and Stuart Swanson President of the Iowa Corn Growers Association, during Governor Kim Reynolds' India Trade Mission.

Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig and Director of the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) and Iowa Finance Authority, Debi Durham also joined the delegation during the week-long trade mission focused on expanding trade and forming new business relationships with India.

"This agreement represents not only an extremely important step for PowerPollen, but captures the very essence of the purpose of Governor Reynolds' trade mission. PowerPollen's step into the Indian seed market has the potential to transform Indian corn cultivation and open the door for future agricultural biotech collaboration," Hyland said.

"With a mission to feed and fuel the world, PowerPollen is very excited to bring our Iowa grown pollination technology to India to unlock a second green revolution. VNR Seeds mantra of "in the interest of farmers" aligns with our midwest values of serving the farmer and the rural ag economy. We are very grateful to Governor Reynolds, Secretary Naig, Director Durham and the team at IEDA for all their support in helping make this agreement possible," said Chawla.
